We at Canadian Hummer Adventures are always looking for ways to lesson our environmental impact.

Biodiesel

We have converted our Hummers to utilize bio-fuel.  This has increased our mileage and lessened our need for fossil fuel.  Biodiesel is produced from domestic, renewable resources.  It is biodegradable, nontoxic, easy to use and virtually free of sulfur and aromatics.

Our vehicles utilize 100% biodiesel during spring, summer and fall months.  In the winter we use a 25% biodiesel to 75% fossil fuel mix due to the gel point of the biodiesel.

Our biodiesel is purchased locally from Georgian Bio-fuels.

In The Office

Our office staff have computerized much of the business operations.  We refill our printer toner cartridges and recycle whenever possible.

Tread Lightly

We practice the low-impact strategies of Tread Lightly.  We stay on designated trails and utilize land responsibly by avoiding travel during excessive wet periods.

Community Participation

Our staff participate in community litter clean-ups.  We also are careful to remove any lunch litter created during our tours.  Not only does this improve the health of flora and fauna, but it helps to maintain the pristine vistas our clients view and it is the right thing to do.

1% For The Planet

We are a contributor to the 1% For The Planet Program.  1% of gross profits are donated by Canadian Hummer Adventures to assist in a variety of environmental improvement and protection projects.

Ongoing Education

Tours are great opportunities to educate clients about the natural features of the area, as well as point out local historical landmarks.  Bringing people to nature helps to develop a greater appreciation for and sense of responsibility for protecting the environment.
