THE H1 HUMMER

The H1 Hummer is a civilian vehicle based on the Humvee (High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle - HMMWV).

These vehicles are very stable due to their wide stance.  They can climb vertical steps 56 cm (22 inches) high and drive over water 76 cm (30 inches) deep.  Since the air intake is mounted high, it can travel through water that is waist deep.

The Hummer has a ground clearance of 41 cm (16 inches), which is almost twice that of most other off-road vehicles.

The Hummer has a higher torque of the engine and a lower gearing ratio then other vehicles which results in a very powerful machine capable of expressing both strength and finesse.  It can crawl up 60% grades because of the torque's increased efficiency.

Geared hubs enable the vehicle to cross huge boulders, logs and other obstacles without incuring damage, enhancing the off-road experience.
